Debut Competition

Each year, the NFF Debut Competition selects a number of documentaries and short films, helping promising new filmmakers make their official debut.

In this competition, the city council of Utrecht presents the Film Prize of the City of Utrecht. The Netherlands Film Festival and the city council use this competition to encourage talent development and innovation of visual culture. The winning film will be given a money prize of €7,500.
