When an NL-Alert warns Amsterdam of an impending nuclear missile strike just 40 minutes away, the city plunges into chaos.

Three interconnected storylines play out minute by minute: a frantic mother locks herself out, leaving her baby alone inside, and now has to race through the panicked city to pick up a spare key.

Her upstairs neighbours are torn between waiting for her return or leaving the baby and seeking refuge in a rapidly filling atomic bunker.

A young metro employee operating the bunker discovers its limited capacity, causing turmoil as she starts to refuse entry to the elderly.
